this project is worked in the round using the magic loop method. after the ribbing on the cuff, the sock is worked in fair isle colorwork, a stitch which involves holding two strands of yarn at the same time. this method is challenging due to the need for precision in tensioning. to improve my tensioning in this section, i switched to slightly larger needles to ensure that i didn’t accidentally pull anything too tight.

while working on the socks, i wove black string through the sock as a life-line in case of mistakes. this pattern was fairly complex and it ended up being easiest to either unknit each stitch or to pull back to the life-line.
