kaylee is an associate ii at wiss, janney, elstner associates, inc. in chicago, where she  leverages her dual structural and architectural background to evaluate and develop solutions for various projects. her projects typically involve assessing structures, designing repairs, developing construction documents, and performing constrction observations.

kaylee holds a master's degree in structural engineering from the university of illinois at urbana-champaign and she completed her master of architecture at taubman college of architecture and urban planning at the university of michigan. kaylee also holds a bachelor of science in architectural studies from the university of illinois at urbana-champaign. her background in architecture and structures contributes to her enthusiasm about combining the two disciplines in her work.

kaylee's m.s. thesis in structural engineering was focused on deployable and compliant geostructures. her m.arch thesis, "reframing the 2x4," was focused on timber reciprocal frame structures and their applications to an outdoor pavilion. her work in timber, a collaboration between academic and industry partners, was a part of the 2021 chicago architecture biennial and was a recipient of a 2022 aia small project award.

in addition to her interest in architecture and structural engineering, kaylee is passionate about advocating for and with women in stem fields like architecture and engineering. kaylee is the scholarship chair for chicago women in architecture, where she organizes two yearly student scholarships for women in architecture. in graduate school, kaylee was an active member of gradSWE illinois and worked to organize the annual weSTEM conference.
